Sounds like a good idea to me...

Republican Wants Gov. Blanco Recalled
From Fox News:
BATON ROUGE, La. — A Republican who says she has never worked on a
political campaign filed documents Tuesday launching a drive to oust Gov.
Kathleen Blanco, who was harshly criticized for her response to hurricanes
Katrina and Rita.
Kat Landry, who filed a recall petition with state
elections officials, said Louisiana needs new leadership to recover from the
storms' back-to-back blows.
"What we have seen in the past few months is a
lack of leadership, a lack of communication, a lack of understanding of how to
get things done," Landry said.
In Louisiana, getting a recall on the ballot
requires petition signatures from at least one-third of the state's registered
voters, or about 900,000 people, in 180 days, according to Jennifer Marusak of
the secretary of state's office.

Sounds like a good idea to me. While they're at it, why not recall Ray Nagin, too?
I believe those two are the biggest nincompoops I've ever seen. There were countless missed opportunities(school buses, anyone?), countless failures to work effectively with FEMA(Gov. Blanco delaying signing the order to send FEMA in.) and of course, debacles like this.

I can't help but compare and contrast to when last year's hurricane hit our town.
As far as I know, the leadership at the federal level was the same and the hurricane was only slightly weaker than Katrina. But the situation was handled as close to perfectly as you can get. Call our community leaders "good ol' boys", if you want(and they do get that a lot), but these good ol' boys handled the hurricane darn well, as did my governor. Briefings were professional, shelters were available, evacuations were smooth, supplies came in, and the situation stayed stable when the supplies came in.

Maybe FEMAs biggest fault during Katrina was not being able to work with nincompoops.
