"Freedom Museum" dropped

In a huge victory for thousands of 9-11 families, NY Gov. George Pataki scratched plans for an "International Freedom Center" at Ground Zero. The Memorial would have showcased, among other things, the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Civil Rights movement.

'We must move forward with our first priority, the creation of an inspiring memorial to pay tribute to our lost loved ones and tell their stories to the world," Pataki said in a statement.'

This, of course, is fabulous news. But don't forget, there's another fight brewing over the proposed design for the Flight 93 memorial.
